LESSON:  World War II

PictureHeadline before the U.S. and Japan go to war.

The B-25 bomber was designed for and used as an instrument of airpower in World War Two (WWII).  To appreciate its role we make maps and a timeline to understand the conflict:
  • the nations involved
  • their leaders
  • where it was fought

Groups of students investigate
  1. where the war was fought - and annotate a map we can put on a wall
  2. when the war happened - making a timeline we can expand over the coming months
  3. who led the nations at war and their military forces - with pictures to put on the map
  4. which battles were key to the outcome - mix and match names with descriptions

Place materials constructed on a wall and interconnect to show associations.
Watch a section of the documentary World War II from Space.
