The KidEZ, the first project
Under the leadership of Scott and Lynn, the kids selected, designed, and fabricated the KidEZ, a mechanical sim to keep younger siblings entertained while older siblings are on board Young Eagles discovery flights. The kids modeled their KidEZ after Lynn's VARIEZE homebuilt, built in the early 1980's in close consultation with Burt Rutan. Lynn taught the kids to use a hot-wire to cut the foam for wings and fuselage; layup/stipple/etc. fiberglass; paint; and wire up switches, wing lights, a safety-clutched rotating prop.
